EIGHT GORILLAS BORN BETWEEN JANUARY AND MAY 2013

The population of the mountain gorillas in Bwindi and Mgahinga parks continued to shoot up with new births recorded in various families.

The latest addition came from Adult Female Bakunda of the Busingye family. This brings the number of new born babies in the habituated gorilla families in BMCA since the year started to eight, which is encouraging. ADF Nshuti is another mother nursing a young baby in Nyakagezi family of Mgahinga.
Monitoring of Nyakagyezi family in MGNP has continued and the group was visited by the Vet Doctor from Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project who gave a clean bill of health
