DSC 0361-webA collaring exercise for the herd leaders of elephants ended successfully in Murchison Falls National Park in September. The exercise jointly conducted by UWA and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is aimed at easing the monitoring of elephant movements in the wake of ongoing 3D seismic oil survey.
The collaring will aid UWA and other conservationists to monitor the impact of oil exploration activities on the wildlife using the elephants as flagship species.
