SAVING THE ENDANGERED MOUNTAIN GORILLA BOOK LAUNCHED

The Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Hon. Martin Mugarra Bahinduka has today launched the book; Saving the endangered mountain Gorillas. The book was written by the Divas Adventure Team with Lisa Randolph as the main author.

Hon. Bahinduka called for enhanced conservation education. He said that many copies of the book should be made available for the public and schools so as to have a conservation conscious citizenry. He bought 100 copies of the book for public distribution.

The United States Ambassador to Uganda H.E Natalie Brown vouched for deeper community involvement in Gorilla conservation and public awareness about wildlife conservation in Uganda.

The ED UWA was represented by the Director Tourism and Business Development Mr. Stephen Masaba who hailed Lisa for the initiative of writing about saving mountain Gorillas. He said that UWA welcomes partners who can support Uganda’s conservation agenda.

The author Lisa Randolph said she was I inspired by an post about Gorillas in Uganda on Instagram and when she spoke to people, they told her that she needs to travel to Uganda and see the Gorillas. When she came to Uganda and tracked Gorillas, it was an amazing experience that made her write the book. The book is on sale at UGX 50,000= in Uganda and it is also available on Amazon.
